Austin and Frannie first met at rugby practice, where Austin was helping coach the girls team. After that day they would run into each other more often, either at the beach or the bar. One particular day during the pandemic, Frannie-- with her dog, Buddy in tow--went to a favorite local bar. Austin happened to be at the bar with a group of friends and decided to come over and say "hey." They caught up on their lives; he had just come back from working in green bay and she had started a job at the hospital working night shift. After catching up, Austin realized he was going to be moving in right across the street and thought to offer to help walk Frannie's dog at night while she was at work. Frannie was very thankful that Buddy would be able to spend some more time outside and agreed. After a week or so, he asked her to go on a date. She tried to think of the least romantic thing and said yes, that a run in the morning after her 12 hour night shift would be perfect. So off they went for a 2 mile run and ended up walking back, talking along the way. They remained friends for a couple months and Austin was growing tired of being friends. Even though he had already asked a hundred times, he tried one more time: asked Frannie to be his "girlfriend" and she finally said yes. Little did she know, he was exactly what she wanted and needed. After a year of living together, much to their surprise (but not too surprising) they found out they were going to be expecting their biggest blessing yet. They welcomed their beautiful baby boy Jackson Scott September 19th 2022. While they were stuck in the hospital loving on their perfect baby, their families moved them into their first house in Ishpeming. Ever since then they've managed to start a family of their own. Over three years together, their first home, a baby, a dog, and two cats later. Although it may not have been the "traditional" way of starting a relationship; it was their way of finding love, starting a family, and spending the rest of their lives together.
Frannie fell in love with Mackinac Island after visiting Austin there as he worked on the Grand Hotel. It will forever be a special place that helped them grow together. They only visited one more time before Jackson was born. The whole summer of his first year, their only plan was bring Jackson to visit Mackinac Island. A day filled with camping, beaches, and bonfires led them to their destination. They started out biking around the island, stopping at their favorite spots and ended at the Grand Island Hotel. There, Frannie found a flower bed and Austin decided now would be a good time to get down on one knee. A "you might've been expecting this, but Frances Lynne, will you Marry Me?" followed by an emotional and "yes" later. We left the island with full hearts, an engagement ring, a tired Jackson, and bellies full with celebratory margaritas.
