We both worked at T-mobile at different locations in Canarsie but our managers were cool and always liked to collaborate. One day, my manager asked me to go with him to the store on Rockaway. When we got there, he began introducing me to the staff. When I got to Edwin, he shook my hand and then stared in my face for a minute, and shouted “I know you, I know you!”. Everyone, including myself, looked at him like he was crazy, I then stated "I don’t know you, but where do you know me from?” he responded, “you’re the girl who won the hot body contest twerking at that party!”😳 my manager shouted “what contest!?", I yelled out “Nothing!” and pulled in close to Edwin and asked him not to say anything. We later became more than acquaintances after our managers set it up for us to go to a work training together. While we were on the train, we talked and laughed the entire time. There was an instant chemistry there, but I had a boyfriend at that time so I only saw Edwin as a potential friend. Our friendship built for 6-7 years as we made our own little group of friends, and as we both were in and out of relationships with other people. We partied, went to restaurants, movies, vacations and enjoyed each other’s company for all those years as just friends. Then, one night after partying together, the dynamic of our friendship changed forever. After the party, Edwin pulled me to the side and started expressing his feelings for me. It might have been the liquid courage, whatever it was, he caught my attention. Even more so when he said, “None of my past relationships worked, and yours definitely didn’t”. It was shady of him to say that, and as I began giving him the side-eye 😒I quickly thought“ he ain’t lying” lol. 😂 We both agreed to go on a first date the following day to see where it goes, little did we know, it would lead us here. Two children later, and ready to make a commitment before God, family, and friends, to spend the rest of our lives together.
