Felix and I met our sophomore year of college. After an entire school year at Millikin, even with us both being athletes and in the business school, we still didn't know each other! It wasn't until we were both RAs that our paths crossed. While I don't necessarily believe in love at first sight, Felix swears that he knew from the first day of RA training that we would be together. After one of the first days of training that August, Nick (our best man) invited the two of us to play a game of basketball at the DISC. Imagine that - basketball playing a role in our story. That night Felix and I hung out for the first time, just the two of us. We took a trip to Walmart and picked up a frozen Oreo pie. We sat on my dorm room floor, using two spoons to eat straight from the container, and talked the entire night. And I mean the ENTIRE night - we looked at the clock and it was 5 A.M. The next two nights were more of the same, with Felix sleeping in the spare bed in my door room. Needless to say, Felix did not learn anything that training and spent most of it dozing off, much to the amusement of our RA friends. I remember the first time my brother, Chris, met Felix before we were dating. My mom and Chris came down to watch Felix swim at Homecoming and we went out to dinner. As we were saying goodbye, Chris came up to me and said, "Yeah, he's the one." I waited what felt like FOREVER for him to finally make it official. He took his time and picked "the perfect date" to make our anniversary - for those who don't know, Felix hates odd numbers. And in case you haven't guessed it, Felix asked me to be his girlfriend on August 24. One of Felix's few asks when we got engaged was to honor our anniversary by getting married on the same day. So here we are, five years later, getting married on what will be our only anniversary. We can't wait to have you join us on our special day!
