We met at our motorcycle safety class the first weekend I moved to Minnesota. He was supposed to be in the class the week before but rain bumped him into this class, and I happened to grab the last minute spot for the same class the week before. I was curious about him at first because he seemed so interesting and everyone was getting along with him, and on the second day after the class ended I mustered up the courage to ask for his number so we could go for a ride at some point. We ended up meeting up the first time and his gear shift broke off on the freeway, so we did another ride once he got a new bike and went to the bluffs above Red Wing and talked for hours. We both knew that we were meant to be together from how easy it was to be with each other and how well we fit into each others lives.
Peter asked if I wanted to ride our motorcycles to Red Wing one evening, and I happily agreed since it's a beautiful ride and it was a gorgeous warm sunny day. We rode up to the top of the bluffs we first hung out at, and I could tell Peter was very nervous because he wasn't talking much. He very nervously asked if I wanted to sit on a rock in some shade nearby, so we walked over and I sat down and he got down on one knee right in front of me. I started tearing up almost immediately and very, very happily said YES!
