We met in July 2010, when maid of honor, Danielle, introduced us. It may not have been "love at first sight," but we quickly became "exclusive" when Connor showed up at my house late on the night of August 13 to ask me to be his girlfriend. We both attended KU shortly after, and have been together ever since. From high school, to college, to a short span in Wichita, we knew after only a short 9 years of dating that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.
On the morning of July 7, I woke up early to go do a Rover job (apparently me waking up early wasn't part of the original plan). Upon my return, I came home to find candles all over our apartment, and our dog, Pip, holding a bear with a sign on it that read, "Will you marry us?" Connor was down on one knee in the middle of our living room, holding the ring we had picked out together. His intimate proposal truly reflected the kind of people we are, and I am so grateful that he included our dog. The rest of the day was spent visiting our families and celebrating the wonderful news. Although it took nine years to get to this moment, it was well worth the wait!
