We can't wait to celebrate with you!

Looking back now on all of this, I did think it was out of character for Kyle to pick out his outfit the night before. We had dinner reservations at The Lighthouse restaurant in Cedar Lake, IN on October 26, 2019. We have always heard my parents talk about how beautiful the sunset on the lake is. Saturday rolls around, and it is a complete downpour monsoon! We needed to leave by 4:15 to make our dinner reservation at 5pm. It was now 3:45, and I still hadn't started getting ready for dinner. I told him that it is crazy to try to drive in a storm when we won't even be able to see the sunset on the lake, which I thought was the whole purpose of this date night. I told him we could reschedule for the next day. After giving him a LOT of pushback, I finally agreed to quickly get ready. Driving there, Kyle continued to say, "Rain or shine, Kendra, rain or shine." We sit down for dinner (Kyle leaves 2-3 times from the table before even getting our appetizers). Apparently, I am extremely oblivious as I still had NO idea what was going on. He then asks me to walk out on the pier with him to take a picture with our umbrella. I told him there's no way I was walking outside in a monsoon. With our luck we would end up falling into the lake. Finally, I agree to a gazebo picture. In the reflection of the glass I saw someone running in the gazebo with a camera & ducking down. As I turned around, Kyle is on one knee (for real this time, as many of you know he's done this to mess with me in a Target aisle, in a sea of people at Navy Pier, etc. & I always ran the other way!) with the most beautiful ring. He completely got me good, & rain or shine it was hands down the best moment of my life that I will remember forever. Afterwards, we drove back to OP for a surprise engagement party that he planned with so many family and friends there to celebrate with us. It was the ultimate surprise of a lifetime! I can't wait to marry my best friend and see you all on the dance floor!
