Our story began in high school where we bonded over our shared interest in music, games, and anime. While we only just met, Michael would walk me to band despite his next class being on the opposite side of the building. His kind gesture led me to ask him to homecoming. From that day we were inseparable, spending our free time with treasured friends, playing dungeons and dragons, and sharing our aspirations with one another. We overcame various periods of long distance while in college that cemented the fact our relationship was built to last. We currently live together with our two cats, Leonin and Kahjiit, spending our time being nerdy and playing games together.

Michael popped the question in front of the Kalamazoo State theatre after a night of laughs seeing John Mulaney. The comedian has been a staple in our relationship, with his specials being a frequent watch while we get ready for bed. Michael proposed using a DVD case that held two CD's. The first was a burned playlist, the first gift I ever made for him for his 18th birthday. The second one said, "Honeybee, will you marry me?" He then got on one knee and asked me to be his wife. Giddy with joy, I immediately said yes!
