Our story starts with a "no". we had first been introduced to each other through family in January 2021. Our conversations were fun, cheeky and long into the night - sometimes about what we wanted out of life and others debating what the best form of peanut butter is (smooth for life!). However, after a few weeks of talking, it didn't "work out". After a few months, on a casual Tuesday a podcast debating smooth vs. crunchy peanut butter led to an impromptu text and plans to catch up over the phone later that night. That catch up lasted until 3AM with both of us having work and class the next day. From that day onwards we texted everyday and talked every night. It wasn't until Astha got COVID and was quarantined that we started spending entire days together on FaceTime. It was during one of these nights that we joked about the chances of ever seeing each other in person. That instantly stuck we spontaneously decided to book a flight to see each other. It was on December 17th, 2021 that we first met in Dilworth Park, Philadelphia. After a few months and many memorable trips of spending time together, we had started to feel the spark between us. It was on May 20th, 2022 we had planned a few activities for us to enjoy. First was dosas for lunch at Amma's, which is one of Astha's favorite foods, and then a trip to Longwood Gardens. It was there in the conservatory, surrounded by graceful flowers and the enchanting garden that Jaimin asked the most stunning girl ever known to be his girlfriend. Luckily she said yes! A couple months later led us to a graduation brunch for one of Astha's friends. After a fun day in NYC, it was that night that we said “I love you” to each other for the first time. Coincidently, it was also the weekend of our first trip together to Chicago - a core memory for us and our first time traveling together. We learned a lot about each other, including proving the internet right - for every boyfriend that meticulously plans a trip, there is a girlfriend who just enjoys the ride :) Flash forward a few months and countless memories, we started to feel there was something more to our relationship. On November 9th, 2023 Jaimin asked the most beautiful girl to spend our life together. With Astha’s ticket to Savannah booked under the pretense of a work event and was told we'd being attending a formal ceremony. She graciously agreed to attend and instead we shared a beautiful engagement at Forsyth Park. We've come a long way from our first FaceTime call and it comes to a culmination on October 19, 2024. We can't wait to see everyone and celebrate together! And as our story proves - in a battle between smooth vs. crunchy peanut butter, there's room for both when there's love in the air.
