I'm sure you are all dying to know how we met... After all, half of our guests will be meeting myself or Ryan for the first time on our special day! Our little town of Warrensburg happens to be pretty small and my family knows just about everyone. The options are slim when trying to find husband material, especially when you are picky! Despite living only a few blocks away from each other for over a couple years our paths never crossed. Come to find out, we had been visiting the same restaurants and bars and even had mutual acquaintances. I had been complaining to my mom that I was tired of being single and seeing everyone else having babies, getting married, or getting a new dog... none of these were possibilities. My mom and dad both encouraged me to join a dating website. I laughed and proceeded to tell them how I wasn't that desperate! About two weeks later at one of our weekly Monday night dates to watch the Bachelorette, my best friend helped me get accustomed to a dating app called Plenty of Fish (POF). My little brother happened to be with me--he was swiping right and left as he judged them on their use of camo and like to deer hunt. He kept saying, "This is a FUN game!" A few weeks passed and a few okay dates occurred. After three weeks I was annoyed with the notifications and dead ends. I spent three days trying to figure out how to delete the profile. Thankfully, I have always been technologically challenged and happened to skim across a message from Ryan. We wound up making plans immediately and set up a lunch date. 12/23/2015 was our first date to Country Kitchen after we had both worked the night before. I almost stood him up because I didn't want to get out of bed, but my mom encouraged me to go. I passed him on the way to the restaurant, he is still appalled at how I drive! He was so embarrassed because a customer paid for our meal and thanked him for his service. We talked for hours and I knew he had that something I had been looking for!
