Where it all started, Jake and I were seated next to each other in Economics class! We got to know each other and Jake realized that Prom was coming up! He decided then that he wanted to ask me to prom but in creative way! He was doing this project at the time where he had to record a questionnaire about the school, so he thought that would the perfect thing! Jake then asked me to be apart of the video and then at the end he would ask me to prom! One Thursday he finally decided to ask me during Bible class! We had our friends Lauren and Landon help with filming! We get through the interview and at the very end he got flowers out of a locker and asked me “Do you want to go to prom with me?”! Of course I said yes and the rest is history!

It was a normal Sunday morning at church, or what I thought would be! I went to the services talked with family and friends! Jake constantly would talk to me about going to a park that day like we did the past weekend, so I thought nothing of it! Well.. it was raining so we had a change of plans! Jess (Jake’s sister) calls us after church to tell us we should get lunch because our dinner at Ruth’s Chris wasn’t till 4, so we should eat so we are not starving! We end up going to KFC and had Famous bowls! Jake the whole time was picking at his food and he always eats his food in seconds, so that should of been a sign something was going on! Jess calls us again and we hear all these noises! She tells us “Sorry, I’m getting Reign in the car.” And then asks us “When will be at her parents?”! Jake tell her “We are on our way.” then we head to the church! Jake also was telling me all day that we needed to take a picture by the LOVE sign from Fall fest the previous day! We finally arrive at the church and he says “Wait, let’s take a picture by the LOVE sign!”. We go over and struggle to prop the phone up on a near by tree, because I thought we were the only ones there! He tells me that he will push the button to take the picture! I go to the sign and then turn around to him on one knee. I was so shocked that all I heard was “Ashlyn Nicole Roberts” and I thought to myself okay this is the moment to say “yes!!”. This most definitely was the easiest “yes” in my life! Jess comes running from the playground then we all just started cheering in excitement!! I still couldn’t believe it!! One of the best days of my life, I will never forget it!
