Flight
Fly into Boston Logan Airport. From the airport, you have a couple options: 1. Take the Peter Pan bus line to the Steamship Authority in Woods Hole (bus tickets generally run $70 round-trip) 2. Rent a car to Woods Hole (2 hour drive). From Woods Hole, you'll board the Steamship Authority ferry, which will take you over to Martha's Vineyard (a 45 min ride). **You can also book a spot on the Steamship Authority to bring your car onboard the ship with you. Alternatively, you can park your car in the Steamship Authority parking lot or do a One-Way rental.**
Flight
Fly directly to the Island. American, Delta, Jet Blue and Cape Air all fly in through this airport. There are also care rentals available from here as well.
Travel Note
The Steamship Authority is the most convenient way to get to the island. You can either drive to Woods Hole and leave your car in one of their lots, or you can bring your car over to the island. Passenger tickets can be purchased day of, but car tickets must be purchased in advance. Vehicle reservations with the Steamship Authority may be made online. If you plan to bring your car, we recommend booking ASAP, as they do sell out. Plan to arrive 30 - 45 minutes before the ferry departs. The ferry ride is 45 minutes and boats arrive into either Oak Bluffs or Vineyard Haven.
Travel Note
There is a fast ferry (~6 hrs) from both Highland, NJ and East 35th St., NYC to the island. It leaves on Friday afternoons from NYC and then on Sunday around 3PM from Oak Bluffs. This is an easy way to get to the island if you're coming from the city and not bringing a car.

House Or Rental
I highly recommend this option. There are tons of affordable places to stay on these sites! The only caveat is to MAKE SURE the house/rental is on Martha's Vineyard, and not off island, as the last ferry to get back to the mainland is around 9 PM. Best Towns to stay in on the Vineyard are as follows: Oak Bluffs and Edgartown. Katama, Vineyard Haven/Tisbury, West Tisbury and Chilmark are a few other towns to check out if you'd like as well :). Feel free to do whatever feels right!

Rental Car
There are a few options for transportation during your stay on Martha's Vineyard. Renting cars from rental companies can get pricy, so Uber and Turo are the best options here. Option 1: Rent a car, on the island, OR off the island and ferry it over on the Steamship Authority ($150, and prior reservations for ferrying automobiles must be made.) Option 2: Turo. It's like AirBnB for cars, rentals usually cost about $30-$100 a day. Option 3: Uber/ Lyft is plentiful on the island. Option 4: Martha's Vineyard Transit Authority is the public bus system on the island. Option 5: Cabs/Taxi- Below are the cab companies we recommend (most are cash only!) Stagecoach Taxi (508) 627-4566 Adam Cab- (508) 627-4462 Lighthouse Taxi- (508) 645-6066
