Airbnb
If you haven't used Airbnb before, it's a great option to rent an apartment or home for a night or a few nights. While searching, make sure to filter and select "An Entire Home" if you don't want to just rent a room in someone's house! There are some budget options and some high-end options, and many options in between. We recommend staying North of Lake Merritt or slightly West, but not East (and there's not too much South, although the Jack London area has some nice bars/restaurants). And again, we don't recommend walking at night if you don't know the surrounding area. Lyft/Uber are plentiful in the Bay Area.
Flight
OAK or Oakland International Airport
Unless you plan on spending a lot of time in San Francisco, we recommend flying directly into OAK or Oakland International Airport. It's less than 10 miles from Children's Fairyland, or about a 15-minute taxi, Lyft, Uber ride, or drive. You can also fly into SFO or San Francisco International Airport, but it is 23 miles from Children's Fairyland and anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour via taxi, Lyft, Uber, or drive, depending on traffic.
