On a Tuesday night during finals week when we definitely should have been studying, we both decided to go to Pint Night at Mellow Mushroom instead with friends. Keane showed up with Rudy (his best man), and I went with Rudy's sister, Stephanie. They swear they weren't setting us up... but we aren't totally convinced. He got my number, and after the semester I went to study abroad for the summer. We Facebook messaged (how cool) once while I was gone, and I thought he probably wasn't into me. BUT I got home six weeks later, and he texted me.. and the rest is history.

We planned a trip to Aruba with our friends Chelsea and Janis, and I hinted to Keane a million times that *wow!* a proposal in Aruba would be amazing! Even though I knew he was probably going to propose that week, I had no idea when. We went on a boat cruise and spent the day on the beach, and then went home to get ready for dinner. I was rocking the "beach hair don't care" look, and I come out to the living room, and Chelsea tells me to go brush my hair. I asked her why, and she said we are going to take some pictures before dinner. Nobody had mentioned anything to me about pictures... and then it made sense why everyone was acting weird. We headed out to our favorite Happy Hour spot "Pelican Nest" as sunset was approaching, and I ordered a mojito. Of course they were out of limes! It takes 15 minutes to get a drink.. the sun was setting.. so Keane grabs my hand and we walk out to the beach.. and there you have it! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Charlottesville!
