If you know our story, you know that the Lord's hand has been all over it from the very beginning. Justin and I met through mutual friends three years ago when we agreed to go on a double date with them to the bowling alley. Little did I know that I would be meeting the person that I get to love forever and grow old with. Justin told me only a few months after we started dating that he just knew that he was going to marry me one day and I remember how much I prayed for that to be true, if it be the Lord's will. We knew that only seeing each other on the weekends due to distance would be tough, but it has always been so worth it. Thank God for FaceTime and for weekends. Over the last few years we have grown closer to the Lord, to each other, and have been dreaming of the day where we no longer have to say "goodbye" to each other. We are so excited to enter into this new season of our lives and to finally close the distance! Thank you so much to our family, friends, and to everyone else who has supported us along the way. We love you and we are so blessed to have you in our lives.
The day that Justin proposed is a day that will forever be engraved in my memory. On the morning of July 9th, Justin convinced me that we would be going to Macon that day to eat at one of our favorite restaurants. While I was inside my house, he told me that he needed to go get something out of his truck before we left. I noticed that it was taking him a while so I went outside to check on him. However, he was no where to be found. Little did I know, my brother had come to pick him up and take him to the spot of our proposal while I was inside waiting for him. My brother had frantically called my dad once everything at the spot of our proposal was in place to tell him a story that he had made up to get me to go over there. As my parents and I drove over to my neighbors cabin by the pond, the wheels in my head slowly started turning as I started to put the pieces of the puzzle together. Once we arrived, Justin was there and got down on one knee to ask me to spend the rest of my life with him. It was the easiest "yes"! I was thrilled that my family was there to witness the proposal and I could not wait to tell our friends the exciting news. It turns out that I didn't have to let them know because they were hiding in the cabin and had witnessed the whole thing! Justin had planned for them to be there to witness the proposal and sneakily got all of them over to the cabin without me knowing. We are so thankful that they were willing to drive down to Milledgeville from Griffin to celebrate such a sweet moment with us. That day was perfect in every way and it will always be remembered as one of my best days because it was the day that I said "yes" to forever with the love of my life.
