Even though we had worked at the same place and passed each other by after every shift, we had never spoken until our friend groups decided to get together after work one day. Instantly we made a connection and I decided to start texting her and "coincidentally" bumping into her at College. Some days I (John) would find myself talking to who I thought was just a very good friend until I started to notice something much more. Something was different about her, she was the first girl I had ever met that could make me laugh. But, it was her eagerness to want to be a godly woman that I found to be the most beautiful. I had told Ashley that I was not interested in dating in the workplace as I was serious about my career and wanted to keep things professional. She was very accepting of this request and remained a great friend to me, until about 3 weeks later when I asked her to go on a date with me... We went to Avalon and got ice cream, at the same spot I proposed, and even though the drive was about an hour our conversation made the time fly. It was no more than 3 months in when I told her I love you through Billy Currington's song "I Got a Feelin'" while on the way to a Wednesday Night Bible study. To my surprise, she was "feelin' it too". Fast forward 6 months in, we had taken adventures to multiple downtown historic areas, many hikes, horseback riding, and much more. Every signed receipt, every candle-lit dinner, every surprise gift just made me adore her more. After an adventure I had with Chick-fil-A, she decided to throw a welcome back home celebration for me, and that is when I knew she was going to be my forever. Fast forward another 6 months, and after finding a ring that is deemed a beautiful treasure - Yet pales in comparison to the beauty she holds - I asked Ashley to be my Bride. I have found favor in the Lord, for He has given me a wife, the wife I have prayed for since my youth.
