Matron of Honor
Ashley and I met on the steps of Virginia-Cleveland Hall at Hampton University in the Fall of 2008. We were introduced through a mutual friend on a ride to Walmart and have been inseparable ever since! Ashley was quickly entered into my phone as “My Twin” because I had officially found #myperson. We were attached at the hip and you didn’t often see one without the other. The lessons we learned and memories we made, and continue to make, will last a lifetime. I am blessed to call Ashley my very best friend. *Cheers to forever Ash-Bash*
Best Man
How do I know Dwayne? Lol. Dwayne aka Dee, aka Lil D, aka Dweezy, aka Lil Dweezy, aka Doc Hollywood, aka Grouchy Smurf, aka Baby D, aka Rip Van Dweezy, aka Klutch, aka 80 year old Man-child Kidult is my little big brother. More important, Dwayne is my first friend and confidant. I have always been proud of his character and conviction as a person. As children, we joked about Dwayne being an 80 year old man trapped in a kid’s body. But truth is it was because he was always a grown man, an attorney at heart and wise before his time. He was freakishly strong. I thank God that my parents “forced” us to love each other as brothers and friends. They instilled in us that “we’re all we have in this world” ultimately. I love my brother with all my heart and am proud of the man he is.
Maid of Honor
Ashley and I started out as pandemic running partners and gym buddies. Ashley immediately gave off great vibes and was always so cheerful and super thoughtful. Once we realized that we were also sorority sisters, I knew that she was stuck with me forever. I feel as if God knew that 2020 was about to deliver some rough times ahead and we would need this special connection to make it through some crazy times as well as to revel in some amazing ones. One day I noticed her driving the same car as me AND with a University of Florida license plate. It was then that we discovered the craziest coincidence; her now fiancé, Dwayne, and I knew each other from undergrad at the University of Florida. It was like I had met a great friend, Soror and Sister all wrapped in to one. I am so honored to be a part of Ashley and Dwayne’s special day and I look forward to decades of friendship, love, and celebrations!! XO
Groomsman
I met Dwayne in the fall of ‘96. We were freshmen that were randomly matched as roommates at UF for the school year. We lived in Rawlings Hall. To be honest we clicked from jump. Our dad’s seemed to remember each other from decades past when they were younger in Savannah. From the beginning I knew Dwayne was about business when he said to me “let’s map out all of our classes before the semester starts so we know how much time we need to get to our classes.” He always had a plan and always worked his plan and most importantly he knew how to improvise if things didn’t go according to plan. Because of that, he’s kept me out of trouble more times than I can count over these 26 years. He’s going to be a great husband, and if the cards fall that way, he’ll be a tremendous father.

My friend, my sister, my ride or die since freshman year VC Hall days at the real HU!!

Dwayne and I met as undergrad students at UF when he expressed interest in becoming a Kappaman. As the pledge dean, I was honored to help him navigate his path and I couldn’t be more grateful for the 23 year brotherhood we continue to enjoy. From day 1, Dwayne has remained synonymous with tenacity, joy, and charm. I can’t think of a man more sharp to stand beside and continue growing with.
Groomsman
Great friends for nearly 20 years, Dwayne and I share more than just being fellow South Florida attorneys and former roommates of fellow groomsman Jaime Davidson. We see eye-to-eye on almost everything, including our mutual love for a hibachi flaming onion volcano.
Groomsman
Dwayne and I have known each other since our first day of law school at the University of Florida, where we spent our days trying to learn the rules of evidence and our nights plotting how we were going to go about making enough money to buy luxury cars. From our annual Las Vegas trip to monthly lunches in Boca Raton to catch up on the latest news, we’ve remained close friends even since.

Ashley and I met in 2010 at our "Home By the Sea"! In 2015, Ashley, not only was my friend, she became my Soror! Ashley, I am so excited to celebrate this day with you and Dwayne. Just know, you are truly loved!

One of my fondest first encounters with Dwayne. I remember talking with a group of guys about a particular class, I think it was a business class and I remember saying how very difficult it was and how I was so thrilled I managed to get a B. If you know me that's a big deal. Somehow Dwayne was there and chimed in agreement saying yes that class was tough! I looked to him surprised he knew of the class and asked him, oh did you take that class? He said yes then of course I asked what he got. Dwayne kind of looked down and away and quietly said A! Really so I could only hear it. I knew this guy was special, not because of the A but of the humility he showed given his obvious talent. I can see those qualities have remained and manifested into wonderful happy and successful man.

Hi, my name is Marly and I met Ashley at SACM 3 years ago. When we met, she was just my partner but as time went on she became someone who met more. I have never trusted in someone so new to me with my life as much as I trust Ashley. She has been there through good times and bad, and has even been by my side through sickness (she’s sounds like my second husband huh? lol). Not only has she been a special person to me but to my family as well. We have all grown to love her and treat her as blood. Not many people can say that they have an Ashley in their lives, but I thank God that I have her in mine. First a stranger, then a friend but forever my sister!

Dwayne and I met through Kappa and pledged together in the spring of 1999. He is our ace (#1), literally the face of our line and continues to demonstrate the same strength, leadership, and tenacity in our bond till this day. We later became roommates, which began my integration into the Dickerson family. I remember going home with Dwayne for Christmas. It was the first time I saw gifts opened together, dinner eaten together, songs sang together and they even had a gift for me. It was that time spent with his family that has shaped who I am today as a father and husband. Dwayne is definitely a brilliant brother, but what makes him special to me is knowing what family means to him, knowing the family he wants to build and how meeting him has impacted mine.

Ashley and I met in first grade over 25 years ago! We were instant & forever friends, no matter the time or distance.

One of Dwayne D's first cousins, we were the runts of the Dickerson boys "first generation." I'm his little cousin that he used to come hang with every time he came to Duval and I spent a lot of summers in Indialantic with him and Sean. Dwayne was in my wedding almost 16 years ago, and it's a honor and pleasure to be in his as he takes this next step in life. Love to him and Ashley!!

Ashley and I met "in the sandbox" and have been friends for the 20+ years since. Ashley, has been my best friend, my confidant, and my "ride or die" (but where are we going, and can we get food on the way?). Growing up together, we saw each other through the joys and pains of friendships, relationships, family, and of course celebrated so many amazing milestones like driving tests, graduations, engagements, babies and more. I have been truly blessed to know this patient, understanding, loyal and beautiful friend all of these years, and am grateful for her constant reminder to see the good in others especially in myself, even when it's hard like at 4AM when I need a ride and she shows up no questions asked.Through the changes in physical distance in our friendship, we have remained steadfast, always picking up the phone as if no time has passed, and of course making trips to our various locations (Kalamazoo, East Lansing, Chicago, Grand Rapids, Raleigh, Miami, and soon - Atlanta!) to make new memories, however big or small, together. Seeing your best friend marry their soulmate is one of the greatest events to witness. Ashley and Dwayne, your love is true serendipity the right place, the right time, and God's will brought you together. It has been a huge honor to see your love grow over the years, and see God's hand guide you to be stronger versions of your best selves. Standing beside you as you take this new step in your lives brings me pure joy - I love you both immensely.

As one of Dwayne’s line brothers, I’ve had the pleasure of knowing him for well over 20 years. While I love him like a true brother, our path to friendship started on a bit of a rough road. As we were running late to an important frat meeting one day, I accidentally broke the passenger door handle to his beloved Eddie Bauer Expedition. If you know how he is about his “toys”, you can imagine his reaction. After a brief, yet slightly heated debate, we quickly made our peace and got back on track. This moment was the spark that ignited our friendship, and its significance still holds today. We both gained a great deal of mutual respect, and I learned two important lessons. The first was that I had been blessed with a lifelong friend who leads with love and is willing to challenge those around him to be their best. The second lesson: don’t mess with him about the things and (more importantly) people he loves – he will go to great lengths to protect them!

Ashley and I met while becoming members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. in North Carolina.

I was introduced to Dwayne through Sean whom I attended high school and have known Dwayne for over 30 years. Although he is younger than Sean and I, Dwayne has always been mature for his age and I have always considered him my brother. Not a little brother, but more like a twin brother. Dwayne is an achiever which has served as an inspiration for me.

Sooo how do I know Dwayne,Dweezy FaSheezy My Neezy, It’s The Diggy Diggy Doc Hollywood Dickerson. Let me count the ways. First of all, Dwayne Is one of ninety seven Dickerson grands. Out of that ninety seven, Dwayne & I are In the oldest group with me being the first grand of all which makes me not only Dwayne’s big cousin but also his 2nd big brother! Our parents raised us as siblings opposed to 1st cousins. I am beyond PROUD of my little cousin/brother! Ever since we were kids he’s always had an old soul & very mature personality. We all were pretty much attorneys growing up because we debated every damn thing, & Old Soul Dwayne was greatest debater of all Lol. Always thinking outside the box! The final thing that I will say is that I grew up with my 3 Sisters because I was the only boy even though I PRAYED &PRAYED for a little brother each time my mother was pregnant SMH &I crapped out every time Lol but God had other plans because he BLESSED me with Dwayne & a host of other male 1st cousins whom became my brothers instantly from the time they were all born! Lol Dwayne and I established a close knit bond I cherish & Am eternally grateful for our brotherhood. My life would not be the same had he not been In It & That’s FACTS!!! I Love this dude with all my heart & soul. I thank God for choosing me to be his big cousin/brother! Even though he thinks he’s my big cousin/brother I beg to differ Lol. This is the one debate he can’t ever win!
