Most people don’t really know how long we’ve known eachother and when we met. We started out - as toddlers - in the very same little league soccer team in our Florida hometown. We didn’t know it then, but we’d soon become best friends. A few years later, we wound up in the same karate classes for a few years! We fought against eachother, competed for belts next to eachother, and became friends along the way. Moving onto middle school, we ended up in all of the same classes and within the same friend group, so it was easy to stay friends as we grew up. In the 7th grade, Bailey actually asked me (Ashley) to be his girlfriend! I said no! We stayed friends through the years and at the very start of freshman year of high school, Bailey asked me out again! I finally agreed, and it has now been 6 years! We’re best friends and just couldn’t stay apart!
While still dating, at the ages of 18 and 19, we began wanting to move out and start a life together. We actually decided to, as our first place together, go big and buy a house! We saved up and put our downpayment down by ourselves on a cute little townhome a few miles down from all of our parents. We bought into new construction, so we had to wait a few months for it to be built. We went out to the construction site frequently, so I hadn’t thought about it the evening of July 24th when Bailey asked if I wanted to go see the house progression. This day, however, we had a picnic at the park of our new neighborhood with all of my favorite foods and drinks that Bailey surprise-prepared. After our picnic, we walked down to our new home, while it was still only the wood frame and some concrete. As we took pictures of ourselves in the un-finished home, Bailey knelt down and proposed to me!
For seperate reasons, we were looking to get legally married before our April 2022 wedding aboard one of Disney’s cruise ships. We are having a small private, close family wedding, at our home this fall for our family to be legally wed before the year ends. Next spring, (pending COVID-19), we will hopefully be boarding a Disney Cruise Ship for our full, dream wedding Ceremony.
