We're getting married!

Robert and Ashia were both students at Wingate University when they met. Prior to meeting, the two routinely saw each other in passing and at sporting events. Robert was on the basketball team and Ashia was a cheerleader. Initially, Robert and Ashia would hang out occasionally, but they quickly grew to become best friends. Robert would "subtly" drop hints that he was interested in pursuing a deeper relationship. After a year of nurturing their friendship, Robert and Ashia finally made it official.

Robert proposed to Ashia at Black Out (Escape Room) in Charlotte, North Carolina on October 21, 2017. Robert knew that Ashia would be so focused on "winning" that she would not notice the candles and rose petals along the way. Robert invited his and Ashia's family to witness their special moment. Afterwards, Robert and Ashia enjoyed a private horse-and-carriage ride through uptown Charlotte.
