After being co-worker friends for a couple years, Nick and Ashley decided to meet up over a weekend for dinner. When Ashley arrived, Nick noticed her hair was newly cut and she was not wearing her glasses, which he had never seen before. Not knowing Ashley got her hair cut earlier that day, and she always wears her contacts when she gets her hair cut, Nick thought she was doing this for their dinner. Half way through dinner, Nick blurted out, "Is this a date?". Ashley said, "I don't know, do you want it to be?". Nick and Ashley realized they were both hoping it was a date. This was the first time they talked without mentioning work, and saw each other in a completely new way. Their friendship changed into something greater than it had ever been before, and is still growing each day.

For the celebration of Nick and Ashley's sixth anniversary, Nick planned a breakfast date, a walk around Clement Park, and a couple's massage. Ashley knew it was going to be a very hot day, and knows how much Nick hates the heat. She kept asking Nick if he was sure he still wanted to walk around the lake. Nick kept insisting they should go. Nick was nervous and Ashley was getting suspicious. After walking for a few minutes, Ashley kept thinking she heard someone walking behind them. The second time she turned around to look, she realized it was her best friend, Katrina. At that point, Nick realized the time was now, and he got down on one knee and said, "I know this has been a long time coming, but I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?". Of course, Ashley teared up and said yes! Nick and Ashley are so excited to celebrate this next chapter of their lives with you and can't wait to see everyone!
