We first met during the engagement party weekend of Sophia's sister, Sharon, and Alex's cousin, Josh, in December of 2019. Alex was too shy to talk to (or dance with) Sophia but eventually worked up the nerve to ask her to take a shot with him. Unfortunately by that time in the party, the tequila had run out. From then on we would see each other occasionally at events through Josh and Sharon until Sophia made the first move and started texting Alex in 2021. Texts turned into phone calls and phone calls turned into video chats. Eventually, after Sophia spent a week in Lakeland, FL during Easter, Alex asked Sophia to be his girlfriend on April Fools day of 2022. Sophia said Yes but Alex is still waiting for her to say "April Fools!"
