Arthur lived in Florida, and I lived in Texas, but we both worked at GEICO, who sent us to a training in Virginia. Yes, I know it is a lot to follow! The second night of the work trip, I saw Arthur from across the bar. I texted my friends back home and told them I had seen my future husband. This was maybe a little too forward, as I had not even met him yet, nor did I know his name. I approached Arthur by asking if he wanted to sing karaoke with me. From that night forward, we became great friends and made many memories on our two week work trip. On my flight home, I became emotional and realized my instant connection to him meant something and that there was more to us than a work trip friendship. Arthur and I kept in touch over the next few months, started dating, played the long distance game for over a year, and FINALLY in August of 2019, Arthur became a Texan and moved to Dallas! Long distance was hard, but so worth it and it worked out exactly like it was supposed to. We have loved our life in Dallas together and are so excited for all of our memories to come. I guess we can thank the Gecko for introducing us!

Arthur and I had been looking forward to visiting his family in Houston for weeks! After last minute excuses, he explained that we could no longer go to Houston, but that he planned a fun weekend for us in Dallas. That night, he told me to get ready because we were going on a walk in our favorite park, and then to dinner. While at the park, Arthur brought me to the top of the hill to look at the skyline. He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I will never forget that moment. After that, Arthur had planned a surprise party at the Rustic, where friends and family from Texas, Florida, and Oklahoma met us. I was so shocked to have all of my favorite people in one place and to see our worlds collide. After a year of distance due to COVID, having everyone in one place meant the world to us! It will always be one of my favorite days ever.
