Jennifer and Dan met during pivotal times in both of their lives. Each was amid a journey of growth and life changes when their paths crossed. The beginning of their story started when Jennifer took Thermodynamics from Professor Caron. She was on her path to a new career in Civil Engineering. At the end of this class, Professor Caron told her she should meet his son Dan, another non-traditional student pursuing a new career. Dan and Jennifer met at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, where they studied Civil Engineering. Dan was an assistant grocery store manager, and Jennifer had been a high school math teacher. They decided to change careers and ended up in many of the same engineering classes. They began dating on September 25, 2021, marking the beginning of their contemplating a future together. After much growth and a little over a year after experiencing the most incredible gift for both of them, Dan decides to ask Jennifer to be his wife. The World War I museum in Downtown Kansas City, Missouri, is a special place for Dan and Jennifer. It was at this location that Dan asked Jennifer to be his girlfriend and now his wife. This place is a reminder to both of them that marriage is like entering into a war. The enemy hates marriage because it is a beautiful picture of Jesus Christ and his church. Dan and Jennifer want to remember that they will enter a battle together. They want to remember they are always on the same side in that battle. And in the end, they have the ultimate victory in Christ! They want to remember forever how the victory they will have together will be so much sweeter than any battle and worth any cost! “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” -Micah 6:8 Side Note: Victoria Caron, Dan’s mom, prayed that the Lord would bring a woman who loved to mountain bike into his life. Jennifer was that woman. They soon became good friends, studying for hours, enjoying mountain biking, hiking, swimming at the school pool, attending church and community groups, and sharing with each other how the Lord was moving in their lives.
