Armani and I met during our freshman year at Creighton University. Like all great love stories, it started on the back of a stationary boat on the Missouri River (IYKYK). We hit it off from the start and spent the next couple of months getting to know each other from afar while Armani was studying abroad in Europe. Once Armani returned, we started hanging out and officially started dating on February 15th, 2018!
In May of 2024, I picked up the ring and started planning in my head when and where our special moment would take place. I always knew I wanted to propose on a beach surrounded by the people who have loved and supported us from the beginning. That is when the scheming started, and the idea was hatched to disguise it as “family photos.” I kept the ring hidden in a sock in the side pocket of my suitcase for seven months and (safely) got it to Charleston to finally get down on a knee and pop the question. On December 28th, we were on the beach getting ready to start our family photos with Armani's family, but little did she know my parents and brother were hiding in the dunes down the way. As I was about to propose, my family came up and were able to watch it alongside Armani's family. We took photos and popped champagne, then capped off the celebration with dinner at La Farfalle in downtown Charleston. It was such a special day that we will both remember for the rest of our lives.
We chose February 14, 2026, for our wedding because it’s not only Valentine’s Day but also the perfect way to celebrate the love we’ve shared for nearly eight years. It feels incredibly special to start this next chapter of our lives just one day before our anniversary, making the day even more meaningful and unforgettable.
We’re so excited to celebrate our wedding at The Governor Thomas Bennett House, a venue that perfectly captures the southern charm we love. From its rich history as the former home of South Carolina’s Governor Thomas Bennett to its beautiful gardens and timeless architecture, this historic gem is in the heart of Charleston and feels like the perfect place to begin our next chapter. The Governor Thomas Bennett House embodies everything we love about Charleston—its history, beauty, and charm—and we can’t wait to celebrate our love here with all of you!
