The summer of 2020 was a time of massive change. We were in the midst of a global pandemic, Ariel had just finished her NYU Pediatric Dental Residency, Jared was about to start his career shift into accounting with the start of his master's program, and they were both living at home with their parents. Ariel found Jared on Hinge and first saw that he loved to cook and she sent a like. Jared quickly liked her back and they had a conversation about their favorite wine and style of french fry. Of course, their first date was on Facetime, because, again, a global pandemic was raging on, but they quickly made more plans to meet in person for a little ice cream date at Ralph's Famous Italian Ices on Long Island. She had blue, Cookie Monster ice cream and Jared knew he had found a girl that would be herself no matter what, even if it was their first time meeting each other. They both returned to living back in New York City and wanted nothing but to see each other every day if they could. After about 6 months, Jared's lease was about to expire and he asked Ariel if he should be looking for a Studio or 1 bedroom, hinting that he wanted her to move in. They decided to make that leap and have been living happily together in their 1 bedroom apartment on the Upper East Side. Jared popped the question on May 15th, 2022 in Scarsdale, NY at the pond right around the corner from Ariel's house, where they would take walks together when visiting her parents. Ariel and Jared cannot wait to celebrate the beginning of the rest of their lives together with all of their family and friends in the upcoming year!
