We both went to Assumption College. We met at the college cafeteria (so romantic). Keven was from the same town as Ariel's college roommate (shout out to Angelica) so we met in passing. We bonded over Keven asking Ariel how her chicken caesar wrap was (how all great love stories begin). We were acquaintances after that running into each other at the library during final time and after college out and about around Boston.
We reconnected when Keven was working at WB Mason after college. He was selling paper and other office supplies at Ariel's old company. As Keven was getting escorted out of the building by security in the rain for soliciting, he said I know a girl who works here, I must send her a photo. He sent Ariel the photo and then they began small talk and eventually went out on a first date. They had appetizers and drinks (because Ariel was too cool for dinner) at Fiore's rooftop in the North End. Keven then asked Ariel if she would like to go with him to Bell In Hand and she said sure! When they got there, the line was SO long... Keven sneakily paid the bouncer $50 to get them in and just told Ariel he was that cool. Keven's friend's "pumped Keven's tires" all night and then that was that. Great first date and the beginning of our story.
We were taking a trip in May because Ariel had just graduated from her MBA and wanted to treat herself with a vacation. Ariel and Keven had the whole trip planned to Savannah, Georgia with Keven's proposal plans in place. After a night out with the girls, Ariel came home and was adamant about not going to Savannah anymore but Nashville. After a few days of not talking to Ariel, Keven agreed to go to Nashville. He called up her best friend Elena (who was in on the plans and broke the news). Flash forward to May and we were in Nashville, Keven was pretty nervous. He insisted they go to bed early on Friday because tomorrow was "Saturday", picked out his outfit and set his alarm for 8am. Ariel knew something was up so she picked out her best outfit and made sure her hair was curled. They headed to Centennial Park. After Keven made Ariel walk the whole park (Elena was running a little late), he took one knee in front of the Parthenon. She said YES and a bus honked-- again so romantic. She turned around and her best friend was there taking photos! The day of celebrations continued with dinner at a steakhouse and hitting up Broadway!
