Ariane always wanted to be like her growing up, strong and sweet.

Tom was Nathan's first roommate. As little boys, they shared the front bedroom on Heppner Lane in San Jose, California. But it wasn't long, after one too many of Nathan's tantrums, that Tom struck out on his own, to the open room down the hall, where he was free to create without Nathan annoying him. It was there that he became the Artist.

Amir is Ariane's favorite memory of her childhood. Whether he's chasing her around the house or helping her play a prank on their parents, he always has her back. He's the embodiment of love, compassion, and humor. Little brothers, first they steal your limelight then your heart.

Andree and Ariane met in 8th grade women’s choir and have spent the last half of their life making beautiful memories. Andree is the type of person who will drop everything in a second to be there for you. So many times she’s come to Ariane's rescue, whether they were racing home to make curfew or trying to interpret street signs in a foreign country. They've had some really amazing experiences together but some of Ariane's favorite memories begin and end on Christina and Andree’s couch, pinterest-ing and being forced to watch The Bachelor.

Twin Towers: That’s what they called Nathan and Gabe in a newspaper article in the year 2000—two tall wide receivers from tiny Menlo College Football running wild on Division III defenses. When Nathan transferred from Cal Poly to Menlo, Gabe welcomed him into the inner circle. With the cool kids. The Hawaiians. The ones who talked funny and ate a lot of rice. The ones who played a tiny guitar and wore flip-flops. Err, not flip-flops---slippahs.

Renee and Ariane learned how to do life together. She was Ariane's college roommate for all seven years at JMU. Kidding, it was only four but it was the best four years of her newly-adult life. Having Nay as her person during those formative years was really a blessing. Together, they were very mischievous, which has made for some great stories. So great, you'll never hear them.

Evan and Nathan met in high school, sitting in the back of freshman Spanish class, cackling at the same time as white kids with braces made a mess of the Spanish accent. Similarly committed to mischief, they formed an instant bond. Their friendship was seen by a psychic as stringing back through past lives, two boys running barefoot in open prairie, laughing at bad grammar. Evan is the psychedelic athlete, court jester and father of three boys—Emmett, Quinton, and Bodhi.

Jessica was one of Ariane's first friends in Los Angeles and quickly found a spot in her heart. Jess and Ariane instantly gravitated to each other when they met. In farsi, there is a term for women like her: ‘khaaki’ - from the earth, grounded. Jess knows the true meaning of friendship; kindness, LOTS of laughter, support, and grubbing down with some good food.

Barrick and Nathan met at Cal Poly in 1997. Several years later, when everyone was "of age" Barrick guided Nathan and his friends into the labyrinth of San Francisco night clubs and electronic music. For many, Barrick has been a shaman. And when Nathan’s football life ended 10 years later, Barrick became a different sort of guide, offering Nathan a bunker to hide in in LA as he ran from the burning wreckage of his football career in Denver. It was in that bunker, nursed back to health by Barrick and his wife Bea, that Nathan was able to heal, and to meet Ariane at his best.

Kit Kat and Ariane will often be found with forks sunk deep in delicious cakes, fighting over ribs, throwing water balloons at each other, or singing to Hozier at the top of their lungs. Kat grew up with the Shahbazi family, grilling kabob in the backyard and contemplating life. She's got a deep soul and even deeper heart.

You see it from across the room---Ryan’s spirit. Nathan saw it from across the field on the first day of JV football, and Ryan’s enthusiasm for life has inspired Nathan ever since. Ryan is in love with with life: the beauty of adventure, the value of the moment, and the loyalty of friendship. Always up for a challenge—physical or mental---he pushes himself to be a better man, and isn’t afraid to fail or make of fool of himself, which you will witness this evening on the dance floor.

Hanna and Ariane met through a blind lunch date, set up by Hanna’s mom. Ariane is so happy she went to that lunch. Since that day, they’ve had more soul-awakening experiences than they can count. It's a beautiful thing when you can lose sense of time and self with your best friends.

Don’t let the smile fool you, Charlie is a really nice guy. As a frightened rookie for the Denver Broncos, Nathan was welcomed by Charlie's huge smile, and the two of them have been on an adventure ever since. Charlie's generous spirit and charisma have enriched Nathan's life and opened doors that would have otherwise stayed shut. Equally talented and humble, Charlie has always been there for Nathan, through the good and the bad, and has never wavered, being sure to make fun of Nathan the entire time.

Christina is Ariane's confidant, both in business and the realities of life. They work off of each other, sharing ideas and inspiration, helping each other realize the strength that comes from sisterhood and empowering the ones you love.

In football, only one quarterback plays. Nathan wanted to be that quarterback. So did Justin. Justin won the job, spinning perfect spirals through the air. So Nathan became a wide receiver, hoping to catch some of those passes. Justin and Nathan have been playing catch ever since, chasing the spirals of life into youth everlasting.
