The heart is known to be the source of love. Our heart gives us our dreams, our desires & our passions. Our heart gives us life! Our story brings all of these things together with a sprinkling of fate. On May 18, 2013 Ari was visiting her friend Leslie Simmons in Miami. It was her last night in town, and they still had not had a chance to experience any night life Miami has to offer. (The nerve of them!) So Ariana & Leslie decided to go shake a tail feather. They came across a Miami South Beach club called The Clevelander, which had an outdoor dance floor & people were having a good time. And then, it happened. While Ari was killing the two- step- she was also watching their bags, in a designated area to make sure they were secured. In the same little nook, Dominique was also watching all his friends bags. As the night went on, Dominique and Ariana began to chat. Later that evening, Dominique shared with Ariana that it was his 31st birthday (5.19.) and he came out with his friends to celebrate! The stars were aligned that night. After a while, Dominique became very comfortable and began HOPPING all over the dance floor. Dominique is a member of Omega Psi Phi, the first historically Black fraternity founded on a historically Black college campus, and hopping is a common dance move among frat culture. Leslie, who is a member of Delta Sigma Theta, had to explain to Ariana what exactly was happening. (Ha!) When Dominique had to go, he asked for Ari's number, just to make sure that they got home ok. (Wink) Then, the next day he followed up with a call to make sure that Ari had arrived safely back in New York. Ari didn’t hear from Dominique again until the following month, on June 28th for her 32nd birthday. (He remembered!) Dominique texted birthday greetings at precisely 12 midnight! By August 2013 Ari & Dominique officially began Dating, and the rest is history. A casual, chance encounter turned into an unforgettable experience and loving relationship.

Last January, while vacationing in St. John Dominique and Ariana went ring shopping! It was only a matter of time when Dominique would pop the big question! Ariana waited with anticipation... as she new all about the ring! Dominique was only looking for the right time to lay it on her! Fast forward to Memorial Day Weekend 2017... Dominique devised a plan to pop the question while on 3 day vacation in Cape May, NJ. Dominique knew that Cape May was Ariana's favorite place and THIS was the perfect place to pop the question. Also, on vacation with them was their son Nelson, Ariana's mother Lillian Ayala & Dominique's childhood friend John Espin who also brought along his wife Adrianne Espin and their two children Little John and Jack. Dominique pulled Ariana's mother aside to ask for her daughter's hand in marriage and of course her mother was thrilled! On May 31, 2017 before heading home to New York City... Dominique decided to pop the question to Ariana at the Congress Hall, a beautiful victorian Landmark. He popped the question while surrounded by loved ones. It was certainly a sacred moment. Of Course, Ariana was pleasantly surprised that finally the man of her dreams was popping the question.
