The best pizza place in St. Marys (if you ask Anna). This is a family owned business (The bride's mom's cousin's business actually, lol)! They always have some antique cars on display where even just walking by the windows is cool. If you are staying at the Cobblestone - this will be walking distance from you and walking distance from you.
Beer brewed in St. Marys! The Straub Brewery is located right by the reception hall booked for our wedding. If you are staying in the Cobblestone Inn & Suite's it will be walking distance from the hotel!
You know the song "Going to the Chapel", this is what I (Anna) picture when someone sings that! Decker's chapel is historic chapel built in 1856. It measures only 12 feet by 18 feet! It is so cute and right in town if you wanted to stop by and you can usually go inside.
This is a cute little place right and one of our favorite wineries! They have really clever "elk" related names for their wine. They have a wide variety of sweet, semi-sweet, and dry wines. There is a place to sit in the back if you want to stay and taste wine/have a glass along with a little gift shop. If you are coming from the south and you like to drink wine, this will be right on your way into or out of town!
"Elk County... are there actually elk?" Yes! And you can probably see them at the Visitor Center (or find out where you can go to see them that day). There is also a learning center and gift shop. If you have the time it is definitely worth a trip! Again, If you are coming from the South it'll be on your way in or out of town!
This bridge was once the longest and tallest railroad structure at 2,053 feet long and 301 feet high, was partially destroyed by a tornado during 2003. It has since been reinvented as a pedestrian walkway during 2011, visitors can stroll 600 feet out on the remaining support towers, peer miles out into the Kinzua Gorge, and gaze down through the partial glass platform at the end of the walkway. It is about an hour outside of St. Marys, but if you are coming from the North you may want to check it out.
AKA The Pennsylvania Grand Canyon! A 47-mile gorge carved into the Allegheny Plateau by Pine Creek in north-central Pennsylvania. It sits in about 160,000 acres of the Tioga State Forest. Beautiful views and gives opportunities for hiking, biking, bird watching, and horseback riding. This is about 2 hours from St. Marys, but if you are traveling into town from the East, this would be a stop for you! (Scranton people!)
