We first started talking one week before COVID-19 officially hit the world. At this time, we were on seemingly opposite sides of the world. Christopher was in Vigo, Spain and Anna in Citrus Springs, Florida. We had never met. Our friendship began due to having mutual friends on Facebook and Snapchat. Somehow, many years before we started talking, we added each other as friends. We began our relationship when Anna sent an emoji in response to Christopher's picture of coffee on Snapchat (Anna is a coffee fiend). To Anna's surprise, Christopher responded. Over the course of the following week, we continued talking and COVID-19 lockdown began. Eventually, face-time calls ensued and we furthered our relationship. We quickly discovered that we had crossed paths several times prior to this. We were both student-athletes at F.I.U and were also next-door neighbors for one year in the dorms. We had many mutual friends from college as well. After additional conversations, we realized that our long-term goals and interests were aligned. We even agreed on three key things which solidified furthering our relationship: faith, family, friends. After a few more weeks of talking, due to COVID-19, Christopher left Spain and returned to the U.S. He continued schooling online while he was quarantined. Several weeks later, Christopher was free, and he rented a car to drive up to Anna's family's home. We met for the first time there and we hit it off despite Anna getting lost in her hometown and Christopher accidently putting on lipstick. We definitely have our moments, but they didn't stop us. About three months after this, we said "I love you" to each other and have continued dating since.
