FAQs

Question

How do I book my stay?

Answer

To ensure you receive the best possible rates, we have created a room block through our travel agent, Julie Wills. Please look under "travel and booking" tab for additional information. Please refer all questions/inquiries to her as she is an expert. Travel agent info: Christine Kennedy (800) 498-8130 ckennedy@destinationweddings.com

Question

Do I need my passport?

Answer

You will need a valid USA passport for travel to Mexico. Without proper documentation you may be refused boarding. If you are not a USA citizen it is your responsibility to carry the proper documentation necessary from your country of citizenship. You may call Perry Visa Service at 312.372.2703 for help in obtaining proper documentation.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

While we adore all your kiddos, we hope you understand our decision to make the wedding adult-only and take the opportunity to let your hair down and celebrate kid-free! No children (under 18) are allowed at Secrets Resort property under any circumstances. Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort is the sister resort right next door which is family friendly. Adult visitors have access to both these resorts at no extra fee.

Question

Why Mexico?

Answer

A wedding, huge family & friend vacation, and unlimited food & drinks?? Yes, please! Why not turn our wedding into a vacation for everyone involved? When we envisioned our wedding day, we knew we wanted something intimate, gorgeous, and pretty stress free, plus we love to travel! Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort offers all that. Instead of cramming our special day into 6-8 hours, we get to enjoy it over a span of days with everyone we love most!

Question

What else do I need to know?

Answer

We highly recommend downloading the “Hyatt Inclusive Collection” app. This app has in depth information about Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa Resort. Including hotel information, making reservations at the resort restaurants, appropriate attire @ restaurants, activities, hotel map, accommodations, golf, how to book excursions & tours, and much more! Also please download WhatsApp for easy communication in Mexico.

Question

Things to bring

Answer

Please be advised restaurants have strict dress code. Men: long pants, collared shirts, and dress shoes are required. No tank tops or flip flops allowed. Women: blouses, skirts, slacks or dresses, dress shoes. Additional things to pack: reusable cups for drinks, bathing suits, cover ups, reusable cup so your drinks stay cold (the resort can make your drink in your own cups!), reusable straws (plastic straws are not provided at resort), snacks from home to keep in hotel room, LOTS of sunscreen, sun hats, sunglasses, Advil, and singles for tipping.
