SALOME: Our paths first crossed in a place where love stories aren’t usually written—a nursing home. I was busy with my usual routine when I noticed him. As I sent a text to my friend Sami, “There’s a hot tall 6’5 psych doctor that just started.” Little did I know, he had noticed me too. We would then see each other once a week on the floors, and I immediately felt butterflies. After waiting a long summer….. Finding an excuse to sit next to me, he cleverly brought up a cognitive assessment that I frequently conduct, showing off his knowledge and hoping I’d pick up on his hints. But, as it turns out, I can be a little oblivious sometimes. Instead of realizing he was trying to ask me out, I responded that we could meet up for coffee. He countered with a better idea—“How about an adult beverage instead?” I agreed, and we decided to meet halfway between our apartments at Trinity Bar. That night, over drinks and laughter, we discovered that our connection was undeniable. The nursing home may have been where we met, but it was Trinity Bar where our story truly began. We won’t bore you with the details but many dates later, meeting my family on Thanksgiving, Christmas in England, and moving in together ... We're now, on to the next chapter of our lives. ANTHONY: After a few years cutting my teeth in the Bronx I got a placement once a week on the Upper East Side. On my first day I happened to notice a gorgeous girl in scrubs and found out she was a Speech-Language Pathologist. Since Psychologists and SLPs don’t usually need to interact, I made excuses to chat in the hallways. When it came time to asking her out, Sal needed a little coaxing…after talking about the Montreal Cognitive Assessment for far too long, I asked how we could continue the conversation. When met with “I’m everywhere, look for me.” thankfully she got the hint when I put my phone in her hand. The struggle wasn’t over. When I texted about meeting up, I was somehow offered a coffee date. Again, thankfully she responded to my counteroffer of a drink. We went out 19/9/22 and fast forward through many dates, travels, the Bowery Hotel, Thanksgiving, Christmas in England, moving in, proposing in Palm Beach, here we are X We’re excited to continue writing our story together for the rest of our lives, and so ecstatic to share with our favourite people.
