How We Met

I guess social media isn't all that bad...

Anthony and Mallory met at the young age of 19. Fate would bring them together through MySpace and mutual contacts, but they wouldn't know how important they would be to each other until a few years later. After losing touch, aside from Mallory finishing song lyrics in the comments of Anthony's Facebook status, fate would interfere once more and have them run into each other outside a bar on a rainy Chicago night (romantic, right?!). It's all history from there!

The Proposal

3.4.18

After 7 1/2 years of dating, and lots of talk about marriage, Anthony told Mallory that he had researched a jewelry store in Oak Park that had some rings that would be right up her alley and that he made an appointment to go try some on. She was excited to look with Anthony, but still insisted that he pick the ring himself. That morning was much like any other Sunday morning. They lounged around, listened to music, and helped each other pick out outfits for the day. On their way to the jewelry store, they approached a red light and Anthony pointed out that they were coming up to Mallory's first apartment in the city that she lovingly refers to as "Club 2007". This was the apartment where Mallory and Anthony's relationship really began. Anthony excitedly suggested that they should go re-enact their first kiss which took place in the back driveway. Mallory was reluctant as they had an appointment to make, but he promised her that it would be quick. She felt like this was a little fishy, seeing as Anthony isn't typically the sentimental one in the relationship, but she chalked it up to it being a fun and special day and that they had been reminiscing a lot recently as they both neared their 30th birthdays. Anthony pulled over and they hopped out and walked around back. They stood in the driveway and laughed about the memories of that apartment. Anthony asked Mallory, "Do you remember what you said to me up there?". She knew exactly what he was talking about. She scoffed and said, "yeah, you never let me forget. I told you that I could maybe, kinda sorta, possibly love you someday. After 3 weeks of dating". Anthony then turned to Mallory and told her that he had bad news.....they weren't going ring shopping that day. He got down on one knee and asked her, "Would you maybe, kinda sorta, possibly marry me someday?" She said yes.
