It all began one sunny September Sunday on the steps of their church after Mass! Nestor had been attending Old St. Pat’s for about a year before that day, though Anne had absolutely no idea whatsoever. In that initial introduction, both never thought too much of each other, though it was a couple weeks later at the church picnic when they actually exchanged conversations. Here, they learned they were the same age, and spoke of various “small talk” information that people like nowadays. Of course there was that awkward moment when they separately realized: “this might have some spark”. They enjoyed each other’s company and actually played a unique part in helping each other face their personal struggles. Every Sunday, after that day, they talked with one another after Mass, though it wasn’t until the week of Anne’s birthday that things took a delightful turn! God truly knows what He’s doing! Having just begun a part time position at a grocery store in the KC area, Anne was working as a cashier one day when, after coming back from a break, suddenly caught sight of Nestor several yards away. They made eye contact immediately and Nestor informed her he had something to ask her after her shift ended. Now, for Anne, this announcement perked her up. After all, she had only just finished a 54 day Rosary Novena to find her future husband. For this reason, her hopeful spirit knew exactly what was about to happen. Even though the question had nothing to do with becoming a couple, it meant that he would be spending much more time with her and her family. Seriously, all he wanted was to use her family’s piano which, by the way, he has never even touched up till this point. Still, after talking about so much at that table in Price Chopper, this day pronounced them as mutual friends. From then on, they knew it was more than a friendship. They served each other in every way possible, helping each other overcome trials, playing the missing piece to the other’s personality. It is quite true that the perfect couple tends to portray two souls with the exact opposite temperaments, in order that they become one through their personality differences. Of course, that does not necessarily mean disagreements are inevitable. They are bound to happen with any perfect relationship. It simply means that no petty arguments ever separated these two hearts. Nestor and Anne became so loyal to one another, they could not imagine themselves with any other spouse. With the hard parts behind them, they are fully aware and confident of God’s Providence for their upcoming marriage. Neither of them can wait to see what happens next!
