"Shout with joy to the LORD, all the earth! Worship the LORD with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the LORD is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good. His steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations." Psalm 100
We met in Hicks dining hall at Grove City College. Bishop and Annalese were both eating breakfast last minute before cafeteria entry closed, as both did after 9 AM class every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This was an uncommon time to eat, so it was not crowded. One winter morning, Annalese was walking and saw Bishop, who was seated in a booth and was waving at....her? Annalese did not know Bishop personally whatsoever and barely knew anyone who knew him, but she had heard a bit about him and her impression was that he was a guy who might wave at a stranger, so she waved back and moved on with her morning. She later realized he had been waving at his friend who was walking behind her but she did not think much of it because, oh well -- it is better to wave at someone who is not waving at you than not to wave at someone who is! (Especially if it gets you a spouse...!). Bishop, in case Annalese had been embarrassed by the waving incident, went up to Annalese, who was seated by herself (on purpose), a few minutes later and introduced himself. Over the next week or so, Annalese and Bishop kept running into each other through mutual friends in Hicks and Dr. Bibza study groups. Then one night, Annalese left study group early to finish up some homework in the library. Bishop, intrigued by the cute girl from West Virginia who often read her Bible at breakfast (she was only doing class reading, but it counts!), decided to follow Annalese to the library shortly thereafter. Annalese accepted the company of a man who had clearly never studied in the library before, entering loudly with a hot quesadilla, a Starbucks Coldbrew (it was 10 PM), and a backpack with two or fewer items in it. This led to a night of talking, further intrigue, and confusion on Annalese's part (an actual text sent that night reads, "Tell me why I just talked to Bishop Wolf in the library until 1 AM???"); and, the next morning at Hicks breakfast, a number exchange and a dinner invite for that very night at that very place -- Hicks Cafe. After that, it's as they say --- the rest is history! Well, a condensed version of the rest of the story is that after about a year and a half of dating (so, July 2022), Annalese and Bishop got engaged while visiting Annalese's family in South Carolina. Bishop graduated from Grove City in 2023 (a year early, and, a year before Annalese) and has been working full-time while Annalese completes her senior year. Now, it's time for a wedding!
