For those of you who want to enjoy some vida loca St-Tropez is just 1h away (62 km) from the wedding location.
Bormes les Mimosas is the France's mimosa capital. While it's unlikely you'll see mimosa blossoms in June, you can take this opportunity to visit this authentic Provençal village nestled between land and sea. As a bonus, the village is home to the famous Fort de Brégançon, the State residence used as the official holiday retreat of the French President. By the seaside, often near Fort de Brégançon, strong winds make it a popular spot for kitesurfing. After you can go to Lavandou beach while enjoying roads full of vineyards. You can aso stop and have wine tasting in many of the places.
Fancy some beautiful beach and relaxing time away from the crowd? Porquerolle island is what you need. You can get there by boat from Toulon and La Londe. White sand beaches, crystal blue waters and fewer croud at this time of the year. You will be able to explore the island by bike, and around it by canoe or kayak. For scuba enthusiasts, the port has a diving club. If you like thrills, jet-skis are also available. Nature lovers can take advantage of group excursions through the National Mediterranean Botanical Conservatory of Porquerolles. For wine connoisseurs, the wineries are open to the public for visits.
Toulon has been Kevin’s family home for the past 9 years. While not widely known as a French Riviera destination, this charming city has a lot to offer. You can explore the harbor, take a boat to nearby cities, or enjoy a cruise. As well to visit the city center, take a cable car to the Mont Faron (mountain). We recommend walking along the coast from the harbor to visit La Tour Royale, Plage de la Pinède, Fort Saint-Louis, and end at Plage de Mourillon. This beach features four beach areas, a marina for sailing, green spaces, kid playgrounds, and a dog-friendly beach. For a local experience, visit the market on Rue Lamargue for an authentic gastronomic and local boutique experience. For shopping I would recommend Galerie Lafayette in the city center or Le Grand Var (30 min away). My favorite beaches are Plage Anse Mejean and Plage de l'Anse de Magaud—peaceful spots perfect for snorkeling, though access is a bit challenging. For more details, please visit the webpage.
Listed restaurants are mostly sea front: 1. Il Parasole di Marco - The best pizza in town. With 2. Milady Mourillon - This bistronomic restaurant, the brainchild of three Franco-Italian brothers with a passion for gastronomy, offers a menu designed by Michelin-starred chef Michel Roth.
Mont Faron, the iconic mountain in Toulon is must. You can access the top of the mountain by car or by cable car. From there the view is just breathtaking. You can also visit a memorial dedicated to the 1944 Allied landings in Provence and to the liberation of Toulon as well as a little zoo.
Anna's favorite place to do horse riding. You will enjoy a nice and relaxing moment on a horse with the views over the Rade of Toulon in the natural park. To reserve please call and book a spot and visit their insta page.
The Hyères salt flats are divided into two wetlands: the vieux salins and the salin des Pesquiers. Today, they provide a habitat for over 200 species of birds and 300 varieties of plants. Maintained and preserved by the Conservatoire du Littoral where you can walk or bike, visit the salt museum. Drive further to reach Giens peninsula or enjoy various beaches : Plage de l'Almanarre, Plage de la Madrague, Plage d'Escampo-Barriou.
If you have time and willing to travel before or after our wedding we suggest you to visit Valensole , Goerge du Verdon and Moustiers-Saint-Marie. The Verdon Canyon is one of the most spectacular places in the region. Known as the steepest canyon of Europe, it offers a wide ranch of water activities (kayak, canoe, boat, paddle) and hiking trails in a breathtaking setting. Located 150km from Toulon and 153km from Nice.
Valensole is located 100 km from Pierrefeu-du-Var or 100km from Marseille. June is the perfect month of the year to see the lavanda fields blossoming without too many tourists yet. You can combine it with visit of the Goerge du Verdon or Aix-En-Provence.
One of the most beautiful french village. And probably where we had our best ice-cream. Ever.
