How We Met

In the year of Our Lord 2018, two women in Chapel Hill scrolled endlessly through dating apps, trying to find the one person with enough information on their profile to actually click with. Anna made the first move, and after exchanging a few messages, our fearless heroines decided to meet for dinner on a school night. They instantly clicked through their mutual love of travel, books, bad puns, and Game of Thrones. Erin was particularly impressed by Anna's sharp wit and black belt in Karate (especially when Anna played a video of someone kicking her in the head- who said romance is dead?). Anna enjoyed not having to carry the conversation, slightly showing off, and seeing how adorably hard Erin was trying to not be nervous. Fast forward a few years, and our heroines have accomplished many things- including buying a house, getting a crazy dog, traveling, surviving a pandemic, and buying way too many house plants. They are super excited to start this next chapter of their lives!

The Proposals

Both Anna and Erin wanted a ring, so they had a double proposal. Erin proposed first- after a botched attempt at surprising Anna in a sunflower field (Anna is a very good guesser- she refuses to apologize for this), Erin took a slightly more creative approach. Knowing Anna's love for puzzles, Erin hid a series of clues around the house for a scavenger hunt that ended on the porch. There, surrounded by friends, Erin proposed to Anna with the help of Juniper- the ring was hidden inside the dog's bandana, which was hand made by a friend's mom. A month later, Anna and Erin were invited to a pumpkin-carving party. Unbeknownst to Erin, this was all part of a cunning plan-Anna had previously carved the proposal into a pumpkin. While Erin was distracted, Anna switched out the two Jack O'Lanterns and hid the ring inside the original pumpkin. The rest is history!
