The Haldi ceremony signifies an auspicious start for the bride and groom, purifying their mind, body, and soul as they embark on a new life together. Please note, the application of the turmeric paste during the Haldi ceremony can get quite messy, hence it is recommended to wear yellow attire!

Traditional Indian Attire or Formal Attire
An Indian formal reception is a grand celebration where the bride and groom are showcased on a raised stage, beautifully decorated to capture the essence of their special day. Unlike the traditional sweetheart table seen in American receptions, during an Indian wedding, couples are typically seated on an elevated platform adorned with elaborate structures, backdrops, drapes, fabric, flowers, and candles. During this reception, well-wishers and guests gather around the stage to offer their blessings and good wishes to the newlyweds. As the bride and groom grace the occasion with their presence, family and friends shower them with blessings. Please note, that this event is optional for guests. Those traveling from out of town have the option to use this time to eat lunch and freshen up before the informal festivities later that night!
