Travel Note
For those departing from Vancouver, you will hop on the ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo. From Nanaimo, it is a 45 minute drive up island to Buckley Bay, where you will board a second ferry to Denman island (15 minutes). Driving off the ferry, it is a quick 10 minute drive across Denman where you will find yourselves at another ferry terminal (we know, lots of ferries). This next boat takes about 10 minutes and lands you on Hornby. The Denman and Hornby Ferries can not be reserved. We highly recommend you make reservations for the boat from Horseshoe Bay. Overall the trip is not short, but it is certainly enjoyable and a great chance to see beautiful BC! If possible, we recommend taking Friday off work and catching a ferry first thing to enjoy the day on Hornby. Any ferry leaving Horseshoe Bay before 3:00pm should get you to Hornby in time for the welcome dinner and cocktails.
House Or Rental
Unfortunately, Seabreeze is not large enough to accommodate the whole wedding. If we have not reached out directly, please ensure you book somewhere to stay. Hornby is a small island so the accommodation options are limited. There are no RV hookups but the venue can provide power and has shared shower and bathroom facilities. There are also a few other official campsites on Hornby. If you’re unable to find accommodation, please reach out as there may be a few extra off-site options that become available as we confirm numbers.
Flight
If you're looking to treat yourself, you can charter a flight to Hornby from Vancouver Harbour. Cost is ~$250 per person each way. Let us know if you choose to do this and we'll arrange for someone to come pick you up from the terminal on the island.
