Angie and Riley joined the dating app Bumble filled with a mix of hope and skepticism about finding their right person. They set out on the same journey miles apart. After a few weeks of getting catfished, being ghosted, and going on plenty of bad dates, they found each other, and their story began. Angie’s cheerful smile and sparkling eyes filled Riley with nervous anticipation about the possibilities of this new relationship. Angie remembers quickly becoming enamored with Riley’s huge smile. She couldn't help but feel the contagious joy exuding from him. They met for their first date at Wooster’s Garden, and the conversation (and cocktails) flowed easily. They bonded over their love of music, cooking, baking, games, and films. Through the typical first date banter, they learned about their love for their pets and how deeply important their families were to each of them. Both left the date giddy with excitement about more dates to come. A seed was planted. A few months later, Angie and Riley (along with their dogs, Gracie and Willow) took their first road trip together to Canyon of the Eagles Lake, a rustic lake-front resort. After a day of uninterrupted quality time of hiking, laughing and goofing off, Angie and Riley truly fell in love. The seed had developed strong roots. Since then, their love has blossomed. After a little over a year, Angie and Riley had moved in together. There was one more toothbrush, one more plate, one more dog bed. Angie brought bright light and vibrant color into Riley’s house and turned it into a home. They spent two years having a blast going to events around Houston and traveling. They also enjoyed the smaller moments - cooking dinner together, finding a new restaurant, trying a new game, and walking the dogs. Everything was more fun when Angie and Riley were together. Through the ease of being with each other, they both knew very quickly that they wanted all of this for the rest of their lives. In November 2025, on a trip to Chicago to visit friends and family in the area, Riley proposed to Angie at the Garfield Park Conservatory surrounded by lush ferns. Angie responded with a gentle "of course." Riley thought of everything to make it the perfect day - a beautiful setting with a sneaky photographer, celebratory lunch with close friends, time to walk along the riverwalk to reveal the conversations held with family prior to the proposal, a quiet place to call our loved ones to share the news, all topped off with reservations at a fantastic Michelin-starred restaurant where each bite was better than the last. Their relationship is in full bloom. These strangers from Bumble became two sides of the same coin. They would go anywhere together, do anything together. She was his, and he was hers. In each other, they found the person that they wanted to look back with across the vastness of their lives and think about all of their trials and victories that were embraced together. Angie and Riley are so grateful to have found each other, and can't wait to start their married life surrounded by the overwhelming love and support of their closest friends and family.
