Hey, thanks for checking in! Due to COVID and MA regulations, we've made the difficult decision to cancel our September 20th wedding at the Codman Estate. We are still getting married, but are having a ceremony with only immediate family. Thank you so much for your understanding and support. We look forward to sharing photos with you! (updated July 18, 2020)
(Angie here!) The summer after we both graduated from high school, we were invited to the high school graduation party of a mutual friend. The host's mom wanted to introduce us to each other, knowing we were both going to be starting at Gordon in the fall. Our first conversation went something like this: Angie: Hi! It's so nice to meet you, what's your name? Nate: Nate. Angie: What's your major? Nate: I don't know. (He knew) Angie: Do you know where you'll be living on campus? Nate: I don't know. (He knew that too) Angie: Oh, well, uh, see you around campus then! We only saw each other twice on campus that first semester (which was honestly a surprise in itself since Gordon's so small). Second semester, we ended up having a class together. (For the first time in his life, Nate didn't sit in the very back of the class!) He reached out to me one night asking for help with an assignment, and that was the start of us spending time together.
(Angie here!) Three and a half years later, Nate planned the perfect proposal at Rafes Chasm in Gloucester, MA. It's one of our favorite places on the North Shore to look out at the ocean, and a spot we visited frequently during our time at Gordon. He collaborated with our friends to get me up to Rafes Chasm (and even get a manicure beforehand - very important!), where he had a blanket spread out complete with lights, rose petals and photos taken from our relationship. After looking through the photos, he pulled out the perfect ring and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes! A bunch of friends who were hiding behind some of the rocks came out to congratulate us, we took pictures together, and then went to dinner. Somehow, he even timed the whole proposal to happen at sunset, which is my absolute favorite time of day! I don't think either of us could have asked for a better start to our engagement.
