HOW WE MET

June 7, 2014

It was a typical day in the patch, wireline had lost a tool downhole, which meant that 10 little fracers were patiently waiting to be released on a unexpected day off which usually stood for “Let's Party”. Rushing back to camp and changing as quickly as possible, all the little fracers decided to go for food and drinks at the local pub in Fox Vegas (Fox Creek, Alberta that is). While the waitress was taking their much needed food and drink order, one of the little fracers over heard a group talking, “Are you going to the baseball gardens tonight?” and without a moments notice, the little fracer jumped up out of his seat, and shouted at the top of his lungs "BASEBALL GARDEN PARTY!" as to alert the other fracers of a very important festival near by. Upon arriving, the little fracers all noticed a very beautiful girl, “The Princess”. One of the biggest fracers of all (Mr. Carpenter) stood up and challenged all the little fracers a bet of $20 to whomever would get to dance with the Princess. Having been with a long term fracette of his own, the biggest fracer had no need to dance with the Princess. With the help of a couple points over the legal limit, one of the little fracers figured he had the courage to ask the Princess to dance. He marched right up to the Princess and with all his liquid courage commanded that she dance with him next. The Princess, having just moved to Canada and still getting used to the English language, immediately replied "Yes!" to the little fracer, not really knowing what she had just committed to. Laughing, smiling, and twirling around the dance floor, the Princess and the little fracer danced the night away. And so it began, the beginning of an everlasting love for one another.

THE PROPOSAL

January 6, 2018

After a challenging conversation in Polish with Angelika’s father (through a translator app of course) and receiving his blessing, I began to plan my proposal. Flying home a week earlier then Angelika and with a little help from my wonderful mother. I had arranged for Angelika to be picked up at the airport as I had supposedly been called into “work”. Once arriving at the house Angelika was greeted with a small note taped to the outside door of our small house. Inside this note was one verse of a short poem that I had wrote, along with a picture from when we had first met. Reading this verse and opening the door, she would find the second verse leading upstairs to the third and eventually the fourth. Tip toeing around the corner Angelika found a very nervous man standing on one knee. Where I had recited the wonderful words. “Angelika Biedron! You have been the love of my life and forever will be. Will you marry me?" After a short pause, that felt like a life time she replied with "yes!" Jumping to my feet and slipping her engagement ring on her finger, I planted a big wet kiss on my future wife to be.
