Angelica & Hugo met at Halloween at Hugo's apartment in Grand Canal Dock. Miguel and Natu knew they had a lot in common, so after the party, they organised several group encounters, but they were waiting for the right time. After a year, at Miguel's birthday, it was so obvious they liked each other, so Angelica bought a drink to Hugo, and they decided to start dating over a Pink Floyd discussion. The first date lasted 6 hours, from meeting at the pub, to dinner at DaDa, then Cill Airne boat for drinks, and after he walked Angelica to meet her friends at midnight in the Latin dance bar. They first kissed under an (arguably) full moon in July 2018. And then, they knew.

Hugo had planned to propose to Angelica in April 2020 during a trip to Greece. However, the Universe had different plans and the whole world shut down due to the global pandemic, they missed their trip and Hugo had to start plotting something else. In September 2020, after Ireland reopened for travel, they planned a little “staycation” in Killarney and spent five magical days in the beautiful Irish countryside. Hugo had no set plan for the proposal, and despite being in the most beautiful gardens of Muckross House, with scenic views, Hugo kept waiting for the perfect moment and the perfect place… which came in the shape of a waterfall. Waterfalls are iconic in their relationship. When they first started dating, Hugo asked Angelica to be his girlfriend at the top of Powerscourt Waterfall. It seemed almost serendipitous then when they ended up in Torc Waterfall on the last day of their trip. It was the perfect spot! But it was lashing raining, full of people in every possible scenic place, and he was running out of time. They decided to keep on exploring the area, and visited the Gap of Dunloe, where two mountains meet, and there is a bridge called the "Wishing Bridge". They headed towards the bridge and on their way over, they found a little private place down by the stream leading to the bridge with a spectacular view. They walked onto the rocks and in what seemed to be the blink of an eye, Hugo was in one knee and Angelica said a huge, assertive YES!
