Mohamad and Angela met when they were just 9 years old, at a community dance, hosted at the Lincoln Park Bandshell. Angela, like the 9 year old creep she was, approached Mohamad stating "my friend would like to know how old you are." She didn't actually have any friends there, in fact, even her older sister whom she followed there blew her off. Uninterested in 9 year old Angela (duh, girls had cooties), Mohamad asks "who's your friend?" After this incident, Angela looked forward to attending these weekly dances throughout elementary with hopes to continue to run into Mohamad. They became good friends (if you know Angela, you know she's very adamant about the things she wants, so of course she didn't let up). They even continued on to attend the same middle school, and later the same high school. Just when Angela had given up, during her senior year of high school Mohamad approached her one Valentine Day with a white carnation, and asked to put his number in her phone. Soon after, Angela found herself hungry (of course) and decided to give that number a shot. She had hopes for a dinner date, but quickly found a life partner. Together, they've experienced many things in the years that followed. From college, first careers, losses, and major life transitions. They've since shared many meals, and many adventures at home and across the globe. It was during one of those adventures, (1 day before their 10 year anniversary) at the top of Machu Picchu, that Mohamad asked Angela for forever. Angela had set a goal to see all 7 wonders, this happened to be lucky #5. Mohamad asked the tour guide to take a video (secretly) of them, and Angela had no idea. She insisted he take a picture and that he must have been confused. When the guide directed Mo to get down, Angela followed, sharing "man, he's a really great photographer" assuming these were 'special poses.' The moment was unforgettable.
