The wedding is "black tie optional". For girls, this includes long and midi length formal dresses. For guys, tuxedos are encouraged, but a dark colored suit would also be fine. For more information, please visit https://www.brides.com/black-tie-optional-wedding-attire-4800698
The welcome party is "dressy casual". Think something you would wear to a nice dinner or out on the town! For girls, this includes fun dresses, jumpsuits, skirt/top combos, nice pants/top, etc. For guys, this is slacks/nice pants, a collared shirt, and nice shoes. No sport coat needed unless you want to wear one!

Nope! We decided not to do any Sunday events to allow our guests more time to explore Charleston, or get an early start on their travels home.
The ceremony will be outdoors on the back lawn of the club and the reception will be indoors. Cocktail hour will be indoor/outdoor.
Charleston is generally warm and sunny in October. Average temperatures for 10/29 are in the upper 70s to low 80s. We expect the weather for the outdoor ceremony to be pleasant but recommend bringing a shawl or jacket if you think you may be chilly. The reception will be indoors. Please check the weather prior to traveling in case there are any big temperature fluctuations.
The historic district of Downtown Charleston has a multitude of shops, restaurants, bars, art galleries, and historic sites to explore. Generally, the area of the peninsula east of Calhoun Street all the way to the waterfront is considered the historic district, with the oldest areas located “South of Broad.” Highlights include the open-air city market, the pineapple fountain, the Battery along Charleston Harbor, Rainbow Row, and numerous historic homes available to tour. Historic architecture and churches abound in the Holy City, and the cobblestone streets, window boxes, horse-drawn carriage tours, wrought iron gates and boutiques on Lower King Street are only part of the charm. Another area known as “Upper King” is located further up King Street, west of Calhoun Street. This area is popular with young adults with its many shops, restaurants, bars, and late-night spots. The Charleston Peninsula is generally very walkable, and an uber or pedicab can be called for longer distances (Charleston Bike Taxi or Charleston Rickshaw Company).
Daniel Island is a suburb of Charleston, approximately 15 miles (20-30 minute drive) from Downtown. There are several restaurants, two hotels, and a few shops on the island, along with some beautiful walking trails along the Wando River; however, Daniel Island is mostly residential and is not near the beach despite having “island” in the name. The wedding will take place on Daniel Island, so if you are just planning to come for the wedding, want a more affordable option, or are bringing/renting a car and don’t mind driving to Downtown, Daniel Island could be a great option. Restaurant recommendations on Daniel Island include: Kingstide, New Realm Brewing, and Sermet's. **Please note that we plan to put together some shuttle options between Daniel Island and Downtown to make it easier for guests to take advantage of sightseeing and dining on Friday and Saturday. Mount Pleasant is located in between Daniel Island and Downtown. If you cross the famous Ravenel Bridge from Downtown, you’ll land in Mount Pleasant. The benefits to staying in Mount Pleasant are that it is a more affordable option, while still being a short distance and easy uber to Downtown. Mount Pleasant is not very walkable, so if you are planning to stay in Mount Pleasant, you will need to drive or uber to shops/restaurants/Downtown/Daniel Island.
We recommend anywhere in Downtown Charleston, Mount Pleasant, or Daniel Island. Please note that many Airbnbs have a 3-night minimum, or may add additional fees and they are generally not more affordable than hotels.
If you are planning on taking the shuttle there is no need to worry - enjoy your provided designated driver! If you are driving, there will be valet parking provided in front of the Clubhouse.
While we love all the kids in our lives, we've chosen to make our special day adults only.
