How We Met - Babe's Version

It all started with a blue candy cane...

Junior year of college, I (AKA Babe) lived off campus at OSU with 5 other girls, and a few of them knew a guy named Alec (shout out). One day, Alec brought a friend over to my house named Andy. Now, I am what you would call "shy" around people I don't know well (I know, those of you who know me are like, "yeah, right!"), and I really only knew my roommate (yes, you read correctly, I shared a bedroom with another girl at the age of 21 - "it was to save money!" - shout out to Julie!) so I never really hung out with Alec and the rest of the girls. But of course, as a single 21-year-old girl in the presence of an exceptionally attractive stranger, what do you do?! You insert yourself in their game of course. So I started playing with them, and quickly remembered I had been eating a BLUE Sweetart candy cane, like, ten minutes before. Of course, I wasn't going to let THOSE biceps walk out of my life, so I ran upstairs and brushed my teeth as hard as I could...and it still didn't help. Luckily for me, Andy likes blue-mouthed girls! Long story short, I asked one of the girls to give Andy my number, Alec so elegantly encouraged Andy with the "shoot your shot" gesture, and the rest is history!

How We Met - Andy's Version

It's this easy fellas...

I was either chillin, coolin', or just hangin' at my apartment, I'm not quite sure, when I got a text from our friend Alec to kick it at his then girlfriends place. As I was about to head over, he followed up with, "There are some baddies here too 👀". This changes everything. We went from kickin' it to full on crackin' on. I wore my most mid outfit I overthought on and waltzed my milquetoast ass over to the function. I had never met most of the girls that lived there so I had to play it suave and sophisticated until I got a better understanding of who was an eligible bachelorette to court. It was going all according to plan until I noticed this slim-thicc, obnoxiously loud, absolute rocket with the most bewitching dark hair I've ever seen descend down the stairs that were so awkwardly placed in the middle of the living space. I was instantly gaped. I did not care how embarrassing I could look or what bumblings and ramblings I would spew out of my mouth at her, I was not going to leave without her at least knowing who I was. I gave Alec a look and nod at the stair-girl and he gave me the patented jump-shot gesture, and that was my green light to pull up from beyond the moon. As the night went on, I only grew more and more impressed by how smart and witty she was, yet she still had a happy-go-lucky attitude about her. Then she started talking about football. Game over. I was completely and hopelessly smitten.
