Cuyahoga Valley Train Excursion

We would love to share the beauty of Cuyahoga Valley National Park with all of our friends and family, so we have rented a private train car on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railway. The train ride is two hours round-trip from 3 to 5 pm, please make sure you arrive between 2:15 - 2:30 pm to allow time for boarding. We are not allowed to bring food or drinks on the train, but there is a cafe car that has refreshments available for purchase. Free parking is available at the train station. If you're in town by Saturday afternoon, we would love to have you join us!

Transportation

3:45 pm - 4:00 pm

For those staying at the room block hotels, roundtrip transportation will be provided. Please look for buses from Durham Public Schools. The first bus will pick up at the Fairfield Inn at 3:50 pm and then proceed to Staybridge Suites at 4:00 pm. A second bus will follow shortly thereafter and again make stops at both hotels. The buses will drop off in the Happy Days Lodge parking area, which is across the street from the venue. At the edge of the parking lot, take two flights of stairs down to the tunnel under the highway, walk through the tunnel, and come up the other side. You may also drive yourself. Please park in the parking lot across the street from the venue and walk through the tunnel under the highway. Uber and Lyft are available, but there is typically a wait before a car arrives.

If you don't have to hit the road right away, we'd love to have you join us for a picnic in the park! If you're looking for a place to explore the park after brunch, the picnic shelter is located near the trailhead for one of our favorite trails in the Cuyahoga Valley. Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. Please note that alcohol is not permitted at the picnic shelter.
