Pacific Standard
This is our very favorite spot for cocktails! We'll be hosting welcome drinks at Pacific Standard on Friday, September 13th from 7:30pm-9:30pm. Please join us if you can! Drinks will be available on an open tab. Light snacks will be provided. Come dressed to feel fly (if that sounds fun)! If you'd like to order a meal, you are welcome to do so separately.
Portland Japanese Garden
The Portland Japanese Garden, nestled within Washington Park, is a serene and exquisite escape, only a short distance from our wedding venue at The World Forestry Center. It features eight distinct garden styles across its 12 acres, showcasing meticulously manicured landscapes, tranquil water features, and traditional Japanese architecture. Please check the website for hours and admissions fees. (The garden is only free to members.) We'll be visiting the garden on Sunday, September 15th at noon. You're welcome to join us!
Hoyt Arboretum
Hoyt Arboretum, located in Washington Park, is a beautiful and tranquil spot just a five-minute walk from our wedding venue at The World Forestry Center. This 189-acre sanctuary is free to enter and offers a variety of hiking trails surrounded by over 2,300 species of trees and shrubs from around the world, including majestic redwoods. It's the perfect place to take a peaceful stroll and immerse yourself in nature's beauty during your visit.
International Rose Test Garden
The International Rose Test Garden, also located in Washington Park, is a stunning and fragrant destination, just a short walk from our wedding venue at The World Forestry Center. Established in 1917, this garden boasts over 10,000 rose bushes and nearly 650 varieties, making it a paradise for flower lovers. Free to enter, it's an ideal spot for a leisurely walk among vibrant blooms and breathtaking views of downtown Portland and Mount Hood. Don't miss this delightful experience during your visit.
Lan Su Chinese Garden
Lan Su Chinese Garden, located in the heart of Portland, is a tranquil oasis that offers a beautiful glimpse into Chinese garden design. This stunning garden, created in collaboration with Portland's sister city, Suzhou, spans an entire city block and features traditional Chinese architecture, winding pathways, lush plantings, and a large central pond. Cannon Beach
Cannon Beach, located on the stunning Oregon coast, is approximately 80 miles west of downtown Portland, making it about a 1.5 to 2-hour drive. This picturesque seaside town is known for its beautiful sandy beaches and iconic Haystack Rock. Nearby, Ecola State Park offers breathtaking ocean views, lush coastal forests, and scenic hiking trails, providing even more opportunities for outdoor adventure. If you have the chance to stay for a few days, we recommend exploring the breathtaking Oregon Coast!
