Sightseeing in Florence Here’s what not to miss in Florence. First, will be the Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio, followed by a few of the most beautiful churches in Italy: San Miniato, Santa Croce, Orsanmichele and Santo Spirito. Then, of course, the Lungarno (the sides of the river) and Giardino di Boboli with Palazzo Pitti, which was the summer residence of the Medici Family. One last thing to make sure to visit in Piazzale Michelangelo, where you will find the most amazing view over the city (and sunset).
