Hardywood Park Craft Brewery - West Creek
This is a brewery that has an outdoor patio, bocce ball, hammocks, shuffle board, and great beer. They also have local food trucks on Saturday afternoons. Some of our year round favorites are the Singel (Ciera), The Great Return (Drew) and the RVA Lager (both), They have a lot of seasonal beers so a couple weeks before the wedding we will check out the current tap list and update this with our current favorites. Kindred Spirit Brewing
This is another local brewery also with a variety of great beers. This one has mostly indoor seating but usually has live music on Saturday afternoons. Bogeys Sports Park
Batting cages, mini golf, and a driving range. Relive the glory days or knock some strokes off your game. Travel Time from the hotel: ~10 minutes
Green Top Hunt Fish
If you want to aimlessly walk around an outdoors store and wonder how you didn't know you needed the basket full of items you have when you get ready to leave. This is the place for you. Ciera rolls her eyes every time I go here but that is just because she hasn't gone there with me yet. Travel Time from the hotel: ~20 minutes
Kickback Jack’s
Looking to grab a quick snack before heading to the wedding? This place has the best wings in Richmond. Grilled and Sweet Thai Chili sauce will not dissapoint you. Be sure to bring some cash or change if you like Big Buck Hunter or Golden Tee. Travel Time from the hotel: ~10 minutes
Brown's Island
This is a great place to walk around, catch a little vitamin D, see the James River, or do a little fishing. You can park on the street as you get close to the Island. There are a lot of festivals here on spring and summer weekends. We will update this description closer to the time of the wedding if there will be one that weekend. Curbside Cafe
Want to see where we first met? This is the place. Grab lunch before the wedding or brunch before heading out. The menu item we both enjoy is the chicken salad melt but usually we both order one of the specials. If you go here with more than jeans and a t-shirt on, you are way over dressed. Travel Time from the hotel: ~20 minutes Once you get close start looking for street parking.
Tazza Kitchen Short Pump
If you want a sit down brunch place to leisurely recount the wedding memories while you eat some great wood fired food. This is one of our favorites. We still haven't gotten to try the brunch but the spicy sausage and black pepper honey pizza is one of our favorite items. We've never had a bad meal here! Travel Time from the hotel: ~5 minutes
Metro Diner
Looking for a greasy spoon breakfast spot? Metro is it, if you can't make it before 9:30 plan to wait for 20-30 mins (it is worth it). Some of our favorites here are the biscuits and gravy, fried chicken and waffle, huevos rancheros, or spicy honey chicken biscuit. Bring your appetite or plan on taking a doggy bag home if you go here. Pro Tip: If the food sounds good but you don't want to wait, they do take out also just call your order in and go pick it up.
