Love Byrds

Britney- It was Spring in 2014 and Andrew was our newly assigned Bethelite. That Saturday out in the ministry preaching was where I first met him. He seemed cocky and overly enthusiastic. I was not impressed at all. He arranged to work with me and a younger brother. In my head, I was rolling my eyes. Andrew- I was the new kid on the block, in another state, in Bethel and in a new congregation. I was excited and zealous for what was to come. There were many friends out in service that Saturday, including Britney. I found her to be attractive and so I arranged for us to work together alongside little BJ. Britney- Throughout the following year we came to be very good friends. I saw in AJ, a spiritual, HUMBLE and outgoing young man whose talks I always enjoyed. Andrew- I saw in Britney, a spiritual, giving and unique young woman who was always out in the ministry no matter what. And so we came to grow a deep respect for one another. Britney- Later that year Andrew decided to serve in the Russian Group in Long Island and so we lost touch. Andrew- In January of 2020 I went to attend Circuit 17's assembly out in Jersey City. I looked forward to seeing many of my old friends but I had truly hoped to see Britney and perhaps rekindle the friendship we once had after all these years. At the end of the program I made it my goal to look for her- and there she was. Just like that, I knew I had to make her mine. Britney- Earlier in that day, Sash had texted me that AJ was there at the Assembly sitting in front of her. So during the intermission, I came straight to where Sash was sitting but he wasn't there. Later after the program ended as I began to pack up, I looked up and there he was, making his way to me. Andrew- I played it cool and introduced myself as if we had never met and I was embraced with a hug. It was like we never skipped a beat in our friendship. After catching up, we decided to meet up the next day with Sash and have brunch. Rekindling our friendship was good.

Britney - Everyday I would wake up to "Good morning" texts from Andrew with an attached screenshot of that day's scriptural daily text and always a long paragraph of what points he appreciated from it. This caught my attention and I must say I was impressed. Andrew - In the days to pass, we grew fond of each other and so a visit to come see her was set. At that moment, I knew I was ready to ask her to date. To tell you the truth, I was nervous and excited all at the same time. Finally, my day had come as I made my way to NYC. At her favorite Starbucks we decided to have coffee and tea. Britney - He had a gift bag with him, so I asked what was inside. He told me to look inside and see, so I did. He had bought a Toy Story 4 watch for Micah and a comic book figurine for me. It was by far one of the BEST gifts I had ever been given! It touched me deeply that he'd do something so very thoughtful, not only for me, but for Micah as well. Andrew - So now, after I mustered up the courage, I asked her if she would court me and to my surprise she said yes. After all the years that had gone by and all the ups and downs we faced, Jehovah answered my prayers and gave me the best person to spend this life with. Britney - I feel that Jehovah always meant for this moment in time, me with him, us together. I thank Him constantly for He has blessed me by making whole, this family of mine, with the love of my life, and I am forever grateful.
